"Music from the Buffet Table" was released barely a year ago shortly after their self-titled debut album was launched in 1999. To date it has sold thousands of copies nationwide. As an added treat, album copies are now repackaged with a free VCD of their music videos "The Dance" and "Money for Food."

"Music from the Buffet Table" has a completely different feel from the debut album, "Barbie's Cradle". Where the debut album carried mostly melancholic tunes, this one is a collection of lively and perky tunes. It could be called a prankish piece of work, with added instrumentation like the piano and accordion.

When asked why the album is titled "Music from the Buffet Table", chief songwriter Barbie Almalbis explains "it's because the songs are more festive and it has different themes, just like in a buffet."

The album contains 9 original cuts with three additional songs from their first offering namely "The Dance", "Tabing Ilog" and "Goodnyt". Barbie happily tinkered on the piano in "Boat", one of the brisk songs in the album. A remake of Hotdog's "Langit Na Naman" is also included in this album. And if you get to purchase it on CD, you get the free hidden track "Floating."

"Belinda Bye Bye" was the first single to be released off the album. It is an upbeat, western-inspired song that is very easy to sing along with. It has garnered heavy airplay in local radio stations. "When we are asked to talk about this song, we say it is about a fictitious character.", Barbie quips.

The band is now busy promoting their fourth single off the album, "Shiny Red Balloon", a song which speaks about longing and false hopes. Rommel dela Cruz, the man in-charge of the low keys, does the back-up vocals.

"Music from the Buffet Table" is definitely worth your money and is pleasing to the ear. Barbie's Cradle produces good music and a distinct sound. You would not regret listening to this album several times.
